This EP features a collection of songs from the Floodhead sessions that, for various reasons, never felt like they had a home within the very particular vision that was set for the album, but that we feel still deserve to see the light of day. As a whole, the EP has a janglier, more colourful palette than Floodhead, with some of the songs veering into more indie-pop territory than the album’s alternative rock stylings. The lyrics remain as conflicted and anxious as ever, but with more playful instrumentation, and with songwriting less resistant to fun and frolic.
